Gamsberg Pass lies 140 km South West of Windhoek along the C26 in Namibia. It is the longest and the highest pass in the Country. The name comes from the Nama word ''gan'' meaning ''flat on top''. The mountain with the same name has the height of 2350 m above sea level. From the top of the pass there are spectacular views of the Kuiseb River in the valley below. Because of the beautiful scenery, Gamsberg is sometimes called the Garden Route of Namibia.
