Leaves of the Malgaslelie (Ammocharis longifolia) bulbous deciduous perrinial, grows in the drier areas of southern Africa. Leaves spread out and lie flat on the ground. A tall red flower appears which eventually becomes a tumbleweed blown through the veld.
