Old stone corral in the Great Karoo South Africa. Built by farmers to hold sheep and goatsdIn those days, there was no barbed wire and wood in the area was scarce, farmers used different kinds of stone from the immediate area to build their corrals and fences. Most were dry-laid without mortar.
