The European or 'White' population in most Karoo towns is dwindling as crime increases. Many of the remaining white residents reminisce about the 'good old days'. In the small museum at the back of the Karoobos farmstall, a mannequin, dressed in a 'Voortrekker' dress, peers ahead to the unknown future.
