The gravel road travels west along a plateau in the Swartberg Mountains before it descends to the Gamkaskloof Ravine or, as it is often referred to, 'The Hel'. Once a forgotten small farming community, it is now a popular destination for 4x4 enthusiasts, adventureres and hikers. The landscapes are some of the most dramatic in the country.
