The ox-drawn wagon on display at the Voortrekker Monument in Pretoria was built to participate in the 1938 centenary celebrations of the Great Trek, when the Voortrekkers left the Cape Colony to venture into the South African interior. This wagon with removable canvas canopy was restored by historian Erik Holm and decorated by Elsabe and Louise Holm.
