Mongol lustre tile 1310 Kashan - Ilkhanid dynasty (Asia,Iran,Central Iran, Isfahan) Rectangular frieze tile. blue, turquoise and lustre over an opaque white glaze. The upper border is decorated with a band of lotus and peony blossoms against a lustred background incised with spirals. The main register carries part of an inscription (including date) in molded relief, painted in blue against a lustered background of foliate scrollwork. The narrow lower border is divided into square compartments containing an abstract design. Some parts of the decoration are highlighted by splashes of turquois
