Grave of Henry Lathrop, brother of Jane Lathrop Stanford. The statue is a replica of William Wetmore Story's "Angel of Grief Weeping Over the Dismantled Altar of Life." an 1894 monument to his wife, Emelyn Eldridge Story, who is buried in Rome. The present monument replaced a similar one with a cupola erected in 1901 and destroyed in the earthquake of 1906.
