The Gimson Beam Engines at Abbey Pumping Station Museum, Leicester, Leicestershire, England


Between 1887 and 1891 these four giant beam engines were built by Gimson and Co. of Leicester to remove the sewage from most of the houses in the city. This type of engine is known as a Woolf compound rotative beam engine.
