Late afternoon view of the Johannesburg skyline in South Africa. See also image AGWWKK.

The area seen in this image is mostly the suburb of Hillbrow with the JG Strijdom tower (aka Hillbrow tower) clearly visible. Construction of the 269-metre tower began in June of 1968 and was completed three years later in April 1971. It was originally named after the South African Prime Minister of 1954-1958. It has been closed for security reasons since 1981.
