Fish traps. These traps were made by the Khoisan people of southern Africa, and utilised right up until the 1980s. They were built from rocks in the inter-tidal zone of shallow reef systems, which became cemented together by marine organisms over time. During high tide the fish swim in to feed in the shallow water and become trapped as the water recedes. Photographed at Skipskop, De Hoop Nature Reserve, South Africa.
