1906 portrait of Yukio Tani,(aka 谷 幸雄, Tani Yukio, 1881 – 1950) who was a pioneer Japanese jujitsu and judo instructor as well as a professional challenge wrestler, notable for being one of the first jujutsu stylists to teach and compete outside of Japan . He was a noted wrestling expert and promoter in became a professional wrestler on the British music hall circuit challenging audience members to wrestle him. Hde also co-authored a book entitled The Game of Jujitsu
