Phalaenopsis orchid is neither pseudobulbs nor rhizome, Phalaenopsis shows a monopodial growth habit. A single growing stem produces one or two alternate, thick, fleshy, elliptical leaves a year from the top while the older, basal leaves drop off at the same rate.
