These details are from the black limestone obelisk of Shalmaneser III and dates to 854-824 It was found in 1846 by Henry Layard who was excavating the ancient Assyrian capital of Kalhu (Nimrud). These scenes from the second side of the obelisk and show, from top to bottom: (1) tribute bearers of Jebu, King of Israel, (2) tributary animals, (3) tribute bearers with shawls and bags. The obelisk is now housed in the British Museum.
