USFWS employees at the Big Muddy National Wildlife Refuge utilize electrofishing techniques to capture alien and invasive asian silver carp (Hypophthalmichthys molitrix). Introduced from China, silver carp and their relatives the bighead and grass carp have established themselves throughout the midwestern US.
