Royal Air Force 1939-1945- Fighter Command Three in one night. On 19/20 March Flight Lieutenant 'Joe' Singleton and his navigator Flying Officer W Haslem of No 25 Squadron shot down three Junkers Ju 188s in the space of 20 minutes. Debris from one of their victims damaged the engines of their Mosquito, and the pair were forced to crash-land two miles from base. Singleton (left) and Haslam are seen with bandaged heads in the Officers' Mess at Coltishall in the early hours of the morning after their successful sortie.
