Germany, Cologne, Cologne Cathedral, Corbel Statue of St. Hubertus


Cologne Cathedral was built was built to house the relics of the Three Magi, under the direction of Archbishop Conrad von Hochstaden. Construction of the present Gothic church began in August 15th, 1248 and completed in 1880. In 1996, the cathedral was added to the UNESCO world heritage list of culturally important sites. Seen is a corbel statue of Saint Hubertus, first Bishop of Liege, who died in 727. He was also named the "Apostle of the Ardennes".
