A Roman appliqué with a bust of Pan, 2nd - 3rd century, Spherical bronze fitting, about one fourth of a ball, delineated with a wide border, centrally a bust of pointy-eared Pan playing the syrinx. An absolutely delightful small sculpture with lovingly fashioned details. The reverse with a support and two pegs for attachment. Beautiful olive-green patina. Length 6 cm, height cm. Provenance: Austrian private collection, obtained during the 1980s on the art market.
