Newly planted apple trees at Greenway Fruit farm in the heart of the East Sussex countryside.

Greenway Fruit Farm is a well established and well thought of Sussex fruit farm producing, in the main, apples, pears and cherries. Some soft fruit and asparagus also feature. The farm sells to food shops and also to local farmers' markets and to the public "at the farm gate." The farm is well managed and there is a constant replacement program to replace older and less productive trees with newer and more productive ones. The trees being planted here are, in the main, braeburn apples. This apple variety originated in New Zealand in the 1950s and has a combination of sweet and tart flavours. They are popular with grower as they store well when chilled.
