The rusting hulk of the old Mersey Ferry The Royal Iris tied up on the banks of the River Thames in Woolwich, East London. Built by William Denny & Brothers in 1950 the craft used an interesting diesel electric propulsion system. Known as the Fish & Chip boat. Later she was used as pleasure cruise boat. Eventually she was towed to London where she continues to decline.
