A German mask of shame,17th/18th century. Carved wooden mask in the shape of a boar's head with inserted boar's teeth,the fangs made of stag horn,with attached flaring ears. The front and back piece connected at the crown by a wrought iron hinge and with a locking hook on the side. Dark,slightly worn paint. Length 48 cm,width 40 cm.
