When a bushfire burns all the trees it opens up the canopy, so understorey plants thrive in the extra tree ferns are doing really well.


The Cathedral Range State Park was badly burnt in the 2009 Black Saturday bushfires. The understorey plants are recovering much quicker than the trees, with lots of extra light.
