A 19th century portrait of Scottish born Henry Lord Brougham (1778-1868). Also known as Lord Brougham and Vaux. The British statesman and Whig politician became Lord High Chancellor and played a prominent role in passing the 1832 Reform Act and 1833 Slavery Abolition Act.
