Manchester city centre is to be transformed into a Halloween spookfest later this year. Pumpkins will line the streets, a giant spider is set to crawl free and creepy cemetery gates will be installed to creep you out - and draw visitors to the city centre. Visitors will find the town hall, Harvey Nichols, Manchester Arndale, House of Fraser and Selfridges lit up like a scene from a horror movie, with gothic colours. Shop windows are also expected to take a sinister turn, while the unnerving sound of howling wolves and cackling witches will float through the shopping streets for the event, which takes place between October 21 and 31
