Anencephalic aborted foetus
Twelve week old aborted foetus (anencephalic). The hemispheres of the brain are grossly distorted and the cranial bones have failed to form. In the rear view the evidence of spina bifida can be seen ie. the exposure of part of the spinal cord and its coverings through a gap in the backbone: left side view.
