A Caucasian silver-mounted kinjal, circa 1900. Double-edged blade (somewhat notched) with double fullers on each side. Gilded silver grip with fine engraving and niello on the obverse side. A crown (Egyptian) and an Arabic inscription engraved on the back of the pommel. Wooden scabbard with its mountings gilded and nielloed en suite, and a short leather insert on the back. Pommel slightly defective. Fine craftsmanship.
