Berthelot's Pipit (Anthus berthelotii), Fuerteventura, Canary Islands


The Berthelot's Pipit (Anthus berthelotii) is the only resident breeding pipit of the Canary Islands. It is also present in Madeira, the Salvages, the Desertas and the Porto Santo group. Two subspecies are known. It occurs mostly at middle or low altitudes, but it can also be found, though not as commonly, in the higher alpine areas.
