Color of old preserved specimen brown above, "mingled olive green and olive brown" in life, with pale spots about as large as pupil rather widely scattered over the disk, each spot surrounded by a more or less definite dark ring; disk also with light and dark markings, these /^ -X â â â â â â¢...â y "â .'.â â â ./â s,}^-^^-^^"^. Upon comparing the Peruvian skate with two smaller specimens, 157 and 290 mm. wide, from Mazatldn, Mexico ( Nos. 47497 and 28298), identified as P. crebripunctata (=P. marmorata), it was.
