Damage caused by a 230-1b bomb dropped on an embankment from 2,000 feet can be seen in this image. The bomb created a crater 25 feet 6 inches in diameter and 9 feet deep. Approximately 100 cubic yards of earth was displaced, but no significant damage occurred to the nearby track, only moving the rails 3 inches. Another image shows a 230-1b bomb dropped from 400 feet onto a 9-inch concrete structure. The bomb penetrated the concrete by 2 feet, resulting in a crater 15 feet in diameter and 4 feet deep. The concrete was also cracked for an additional 6 feet around the crater. These observations w
