A local fisherman is returning from the sea in the morning carrying his fishing nets at Chandipur beach, Orissa, India. Chandipur is a popular beach town situated in the Balasore District of Orissa. It lies near the Bay of Bengal at a distance of 16 km from the Balasore Railway Station. Backed up by musical sway of casuarina trees and creepered sand dunes, Chandipur is one such beach, but with a unique distinction on its own. Unlike other beaches, the sea water here recedes away from the shore line about five km twice a day, an unusual phenomenon, rarely found anywhere.
