The sluice gates at Bonnington Linn, above Bonnington Hydro power station New Lanark, South Lanarkshire, Scotland, UK


There is an artificial weir across the Clyde at this point helping to ensure a head of water for the power station. The photo shows the bridge over the weir, and both the sluice gates and their counterbalance weights. Should the power station need to shut down for repair of maintenance the sluice gates are opened allowing the flow to go down the Falls of Clyde. See also F0WP0R F0WP0T F0WP0W
