Il daino (Dama dama), conosciuto anche con il termine arcaico di damma o dama, è un mammifero artiodattilo della famiglia dei Cervidi. I maschi, oltre a possedere le "corna" (il cui nome sarebbe, più esattamente, palchi), sono più grossi e robusti delle femmine I palchi, presenti solo nei maschi, spuntano a partire dal secondo anno di vita.
