Giant hissing cockroach (Aeluropoda insignis), dorsal view. This insect's hard, shiny carapace is segmented, with its six legs seen protruding from the underside. The antennae curl backwards from the head (upper right). Cockroaches are found worldwide. The largest cockroaches, found in the tropics, can reach 8 centimetres in length. This cockroach is found in Madagascar.
