Tefnut was the goddess of moisture and the sister and wife of Shu, the god of the atmosphere (air).

In Egyptian mythology, Tefnut was the goddess of moisture and the sister and wife of Shu, the god of the atmosphere (air). Tefnut was depicted as a lioness or, as here, with the head of a lion. A solar divinity as well, she wears the solar disk and the uraeus. In her right hand is an ankh (symbol of life); in her left, a scepter.
