A pair of German greaves,ca. 1540/50 Closed greaves opening on hinges. Front and side etched with decorative strips of vines. Two original fastening hooks on the sides of each. Seven lame foot guard in the shape of a bear-paw sabaton with identical etched decoration. There is a knob for mounting a spur on each heel. Blacking renewed. Height 49 cm.
