Circumference of the Earth. The Science and Technology Museum Leonardo da Vinci. Milan. Italy.

Circumference of the Earth. Eratosthenes (250 BC) calculated the circumference of the Earth by measuring noontime shadows at two localities of different latitude. Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519) developed a novel way to measure the area of a circle using the rotation of wheel half the thickness of its radius. The Science and Technology Museum Leonardo da Vinci.
