Christopher Houston Carson1809 – 868) was an American frontiersman, a fur trapper, Indian agent, wilderness guide, and Army officer who became a legend in his own lifetime. He notoriously led forces to suppress many Indian tribes tribes by destroying their food sources. He was briefly Brigadier General and took command of Fort Garland, Colorado
