Nogales, Arizona - A Borderlands Food Bank warehouse holds fresh produce diverted from landfills. Each year, Borderlands takes in 30 to 40 million pounds of produce, mostly grown in Mexico, that would otherwise be discarded. The produce is usable but may have blemishes, or a grower may have more than can be sold. The Food Bank distributes the produce to individuals and nonprofits in Arizona and throughout parts of the and Mexico.
