The High Street in Clovelly as it appeared in the late 19th century. The New Inn sign is now on the left of this view looking up the hill. At times, the New Inn let rooms on both sides of the street and photos from the mid 20th century show the sign swapping from one side of the street to the other. Black and White Illustration from Our Own Country Vol III published by Cassell, Petter, Galpin & Co. in the late 19th century.
