Nancy Jones was the first black, single, female missionary to Africa comissioned by the American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions (ABCFM) in the United States. Jones served in Mozambique from 1888 to 1893 and later in Southern Rhodesia (Zimbabwe) from 1893 to 1897. (Photo from Natal, Africa c1888)
