The Englemann’s hedgehog, or Echinocereus engelmannii. Commonly known as the Santa’s cactus or the strawberry cactus.

Cactus flowers are unique because they have dozens of stamens and petals, rather than the usual 5 to 10 of each that are most commonly found with flowering plants. The Englemann’s hedgehog (Echinocereus engelmannii), commonly known as the Santa’s cactus or the strawberry cactus,is commonly found at elevations between 650 and 8,000 feet (200 to 2,400 meters) and are one of the first cactus species to bloom each spring. Credit and thanks to for the information on the flower.
