Araucarioxylon is an extinct genus of conifer in the family Araucariaceae, of which fossils are preserved in Mesozoic deposits in central North America. Its fossil wood is often variously and attractively coloured thanks to small contents of iron, hematite and other elements present during fossilisation. There is some disagreement among specialists as to the name Araucarioxylon, with some referring to it as Agathoxylon
