Two Sinhalese tillers, Two men standing outside in an open field. They stand upright, each holding a hoe (udalla) on a long stick. They both wear only a small loincloth (lanket, lunket) that covers the crotch and leaves the buttocks exposed. The long wavy hair of both men hangs loose over their shoulders. The man on the left has the hoe on the ground next to him. He holds the stick with his right hand; the left arm hangs relaxed at the side. The man on the right – possibly the same figure – has the hoe behind him. These man(s) are Sinhala farmers belonging to the Goviya caste
