Endymion crater and Mare Humboldtianum. Lunar surface centred on the Endymion crater (125 kilometres across). On the Moon's limb at upper centre (dark patch) is the Mare Humboldtianum ('Sea of Alexander von Humboldt'). This lunar mare, 273 kilometres across, is part of the Humboldtianum basin along the north-eastern limb of the Moon, and continues on to the far side. This image, taken from Souni, Cyprus, with a 356mm reflector, was obtained on 17 April 2013.
