When asking for the best road or other information, give a flower with your "thank ; The man at a gas sta- tion, no doubt, would be agreeably sur- prised if you presented him with a bou- tonniere. The waitress in the restaurant would surely give you better service in return for a few posies. Scatter sunshine and good cheer along the way. Think of the thousands of "miles of smiles" if every florist at- tending would heed this suggestion. Let every man, woman and child com- ing to the convention wear flowers and also during the entire time of the con- vention. Those coming on the train ought to bring some to place on their tables in the dining car. It may have a beneficial result on the officials. At any rate it will make the trip more enjoyable. To the growers and wholesalers, I plead that they send their surplus flow- ers with the different delegations leav- ing for Kansas City. No matter how large or how small the offering, it will be gratefully accepted. Let's make Kansas City glad that we came. If that city is the heart of the nation, let's make that heart throb with joy by taking flowers to the hospitals, nurseries and homes for aged, to the ex- service men, for the mission of flowers is To minister delight to man, To beautify the earth. To comfort the siclt—to whisper hope Whenever the path is dim. For whoso careth for the flowers. Will care so much more for Him. By bringing joy and happiness to its unfortunate citizens, Kansas City will cherish our visit in grateful memory and wish us Godspeed on our return journey. Ijives of great men nil remind iih We can make our lives sublime, And, departing, leave behind us Footprints on the sands of time. Yours for greater happiness and service, Martha C.
