Juan Alvarez de Mendizábal (1790-1853). Spanish politician and financier who had great importance in the Spanish Liberal Revolution. He was appointed Minister of Finance in July 1835 by the Count of Toreno, a role in which he promoted the ecclesiastical confiscations. Portrait. Engraving.
