China: 'Cao Dagu Teaching', by Jin Tingbiao (Unknown - 1767). Cao Dagu also known as Ban Zhao was the first known female Chinese historian. She was also a philosopher and politician. She was famous for her 'Lessons for Women', a treatise on the education of women. Jin Tingbiao, courtesy name Shikui, was a Chinese painter of the Qing dynasty, who served in the court of the Qianlong Emperor. He was a southern Chinese from Wucheng in Huzhou and was active between 1720 and 1760.
