A piece of ground had already been pur-chased at the North End, and in thefollowing April, the Corner Stone of theSecond Episcopal Church was laid byMr, Myles, and in December following itwas dedicated by the Rev. Timothy Cut-ler, who was its first Rector.* Such was theorigin of Christs Church.
