In this sculpture, the Turin masterpiece portrait Egypt’s King Ramesses II, he wears the war helmet and grasps the heqa-sceptre.

This sculpture is known as the Turin masterpiece portrait of Egypt’s King Ramesses II. In this photon, only the head is shown. The pharaoh appears in the Blue Crown or war helmet, grasping the heqa-sceptre. Contrary to custom, he wears a long full robe that is asymmetrically draped to create an enormous bell sleeve and his feet are shod in sandals. The nose is extremely large, the mouth is proportionally small and the chin is even recessive, all which are unusual until this point. Rameses II is also known as Rameses the Great and he ruled during the 19th Dynasty (New Kindgom) from c. 1279-1213
