Peoria, Arizona - Tessera Solar's megawatt Maricopa Solar plant, which opened in 2010 with 60 "Suncatcher" concentrating solar power dishes to generate renewable electricity for Phoenix residents. After the plant opened, the price of photovoltaic panels dropped. Tessera went bankrupt and the plant is not operating.
